Palifico pulls out a small pouch of money, mumbling the words, "I saved up double this amount. I have half, and now..." He handed it to Raye. "So do you."

Raye hefted the bag. It was pretty heavy. It was, without a doubt, the most money she'd ever held in her entire life. "Thank you," she said as she passed an apple vendor. Raye grabbed two green, juicy apples right out from under his nose without him noticing. She tossed one to Palifico, and then took a bite of the one she saved for herself. It tasted really, really good. The last thing she'd eaten was two bites of cookie in Ali's cabin.
Raye realized she'd just stolen again and frowned. She had money now. Why was she stealing again?

Palifico: *drops two shillings on the counter from his own bag and bites into his own apple* Okay. What kind of food will we need?

Raye found it annoying that Palifico had paid for what she'd stolen, even though she knew it was the right thing to do. Raye ignored the annoyance. "We'll need oranges, for scurvy, and we'll need salted meat, buiscuits, anything that will keep for a long time. I know pickles will, but I don't particularly enjoy pickles for a meal. But maybe we ought to have some anyway." Raye made a face. Pickles brought back some unhappy memories. Once her owner, Captain Charles Hemmingway, had run out of all food, except pickles. She'd been eating pickles and only pickles for a whole month.

Palifico nods, taking another bite out of the apple. He didn't enjoy pickles much as well. "What about some noodles and honey. We can get pickles too. I'm sure I can make something of that. Along with being Jones' personal guard, *shudders at that thought* I was the cook on board the Dutchman. I'm sure I can make something you, Lana, and the Cap'n will enjoy."

"Okay," Raye didn't show it, but she was relieved to have someone who could cook. She could only do one thing with a skillet. Hit someone. "We should get only a little honey, because it's hard to eat plain. Oh, and we should get some gurt too. I've never, ever heard of gurt going bad." When Raye had first had gurt, she'd thought the little white pebbles of dried cheese were disgusting. However, when she'd eaten it later, it had tasted delicious. However, Raye had been starving at the time, and she hadn't had any since. Perhaps she didn't like it anymore.
Raye reached for a banana someone was trying to sell, but she pulled back as she realized what she was doing. Raye took another bite of her apple.

Palifico smiles happily at her self control. "Okay. Yeah. Gurt..." He'd had plenty of experiences eating gurt on board the Dutchman, but he had a way to make it taste better than it did and he can prove that to Raye. He picked up some oranges from a nearby vendor and dropped a shilling on the counter.

"Don't move," Raye said, and she dashed off for a few seconds. When she came back, she had enough biscuts to last until they reached America, a jar filled with lard, and a few bottles of rum. "We knew we'd need biscuts, I'm assuming lard would be useful to cook with, and... well, keep the rum away from Jack. We'll need it for injuries." Raye knew bandages that had been wetted with rum would keep a wound from souring. Raye was quite proud of herself. She'd actually paid for all this stuff.

Palifico kept the smile embedded on his face. "In fact. Lard can be used for much more than cooking. Since we may have Jimmylegs on board after this journey, we'll need a salve. Did you ever get a whip?"

Raye nodded. "Yeah, but I left it on the Whisperer. Considering I don't know how to use it. If I don't carry it around with me, I won't be tempted to use it if threatened, and I won't simply hurt myself and my allies with it." Raye saw a man selling grain. She bought some cornmeal. "The only food I can make is cornmeal mush. So I always have some."

Palifico nods, slightly smiling. They moved on to the next items on the list... gunpowder, and cannonballs. (I just want to speed this up to get aboard the Whisperer again) Palifico walked up to the shopkeep and said, "I'd like some gunpowder and cannonballs, please." The shopkeep simply nodded, walked into a back room, and walked back out with the items. "Anything else, sir?" Palifico looked at Raye, "You need anything?"

Raye shook her head. She always stole her weapons from people that were wearing them. She knew stealing was wrong, but stealing a weapon from someone else who might use it against her didnt' seem so bad. As they were walking back to the Whisperer, she really looked at Palifico. "What in the world are you smiling at?"

(Okay, thie thing, Palifico and Ana had no idea what Christa did to get Jack mad. They just saw him klil her. Hopefully Harmeet can clear that up) Palifico's smile had disappeared long ago when the thought of his sister popped into his head. Christa had been killed aboard the Dutchman, and Ana was probably never going to get off. "We really need to get to Besaid. We need to protect Rose with our lives. Ana may never get off the Dutchman, but knowing Jones, he won't let her off anyway. And if he does, he'll either feed her to the Kraken, or throw her overboard. Her only hope is if we rescue her. And that's putting everyone's lives in danger."

Raye blinked. "Okay... that was irrelevant... but don't worry so much Palifico. I have a plan. A vague, half-formed, prone to improvisation plan, but a plan none the less. We'll get AnaMaria back." Raye had been thinking about what to do for a long time. First, they had to get to Besaid, and find Rose. Then, they had to get the Dutchman to get to Besaid. After that though, her plan was pretty well set. (It's easy for me to create a plan that is likely to succeed when I also play Jones. And because it seems that we have to go for quite a while without a response from Palifico, I'm just going to return to the Whisperer. So, when Jimmy comes back, reply on the Whisperer)
